Yvonne Ridley: Zionists should be "hunted down"
A student journalist fisks Yvonne Ridley's recent lecture at Imperial College in London:
Yvonne sits on the national council of Respect and stood as a Respect candidate in the last general election. "[Respect] is a Zionist-free party... if there was any Zionism in the Respect Party they would be hunted down and kicked out. We have no time for Zionists." She explained that government support "goes towards that disgusting little watchdog of America that is festering in the Middle East". She went on to attack the Tories and Lib Dems, saying that all the mainstream parties are "riddled with Zionists". I found it hard to comprehend how the notion that "[Respect] encompasses a broad church of ideas and opinions" could be compatible with the hunting down of supporters of an Israeli state.
Ridley then plugged Respect's attempt to take control of Tower Hamlets and Newham councils. "When Respect takes control of those councils in the May elections, they will be hoisting up the Palestinian flag". She claimed that Respect's candidates in East London were "a reflection of what I see before me in the room today a rich multicultural mix of people", (clearly assuming that nobody at the event was a Zionist as they're not too welcome in Respect).
Overall, the debate was not so much that of `what now for Israel and Palestine?' as advertised but an all-out attack on Israel. Ridley criticised "the West's" ignorance of Islam and the situation in Palestine. What is clear is that Respect's policy on the Middle East, if that is what Ridley advocated, is pretty much in line with that of Hamas and effectively calls for the destruction of Israel.

Oi. It's one thing to adopt the theological precepts of an assumed faith, another to adopt the prejudices of the cultures and communities in which it is rooted. Strikes me that a good many 'reverts' were lacking for something more than an uncomprised monotheism prior their being accepted into the ummah.
ridley's comments show that being jewish is virtually incompatible with being a member or supporter of the islamo - fascist front that resoect is fast becoming!
Even the nazi british national party would balk at using such disgusting language to describe the state of israel!
why does so much of the so called british left hate israel so much? In israel you can join and organise trade unions freely (which you cannot in any islamic state). Socialist parties openly exist ( which they cannot in islamic states) while women and gay people are not regularly executed and stones to death ) as they are routinely in islamic states

The answer to your question is fairly simple: most "anti-zionists" really are "anti-Semetic". I think David Hirsh of Engage recently took Sue Blackwell apart on that very point when Ms. Blackwell wrote, however well intended in the Egyptian press, as to her puzzlement at the way too many "anti-Zionists" are able to accept the Protocols of Zion as bona fide evidence of a Jewish conspiracy.
In short,Hirsh (who is not a Zionist) says that when you continually hold Israel up as the example of the worst offender of human rights in a world of far greater offenders, Jew hatred is exactly what you invite.

While I do not condone Israel's brutal methods of surviving, please be aware that Ridley also uses similar language for any Muslim who she doesn't like.

I respect your comment however pardon me for pointing out that Israel is not "surviving" - you need to visit Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem (the internationally recognised borders of Palestine in a Two State fantasy) and then see who is truely "surviving" - who is being bombed, murdered, terrorized and ethnically cleansed daily by the zionists. The state of Israel apparently exists even though it cannot tell us where its borders lie ... hence the wall which is rightly condemned by the COURT of INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE. The zionist state is clearly not surviving but stealing the land of the arabs using US donated weaponry, some of the most sophisticated in the world against the stone thrower. She seen the TRUTH with her own eyes. Infact she admits being rude & hateful towards the Taliban yet they treated her with respect. And the reason they did so was because they were good Muslims who were not just Muslims by name like most so called Muslims today. In Islam woman Muslim or non Muslim are treated with respect thats why Yvonne Ridley was treated with respect even though she wasn't a Muslim at that time. Had the Taliban been bad people who knows what could have happened to her. She came across good Muslims thats why she embraced Islam. Remember she didn't accept Islam while she was held captive by the so called brutal Taliban in Afghanistan. She became Muslim much later on her own free will.
